Susan Askey – Exhibition Opening at Pied Piper Pianos
We are excited to present Susan Askey’s first public, solo exhibition. Opening this Saturday from 7 – 9pm and running for a month. (Closing on Friday 8th July).
Based in Hebden Bridge, Susan makes art that is feminine, semi abstract…sometimes figurative, sometimes landscape based or focused on a detail…varied in style, but always heartfelt, her paintings are interspersed with delicate, natural hanging sculptures. Come along and enjoy an evening in our bright and beautiful piano gallery. The artist will be available to chat about her work/commissions.

“It is that time again when the bards, poets and storytellers descend upon Haworth. This time falls close to the Summer Solstice. In the 7th century, Saint Eligius warned the recently converted inhabitants of Flanders against the age-old pagan solstice celebrations. According to the Vita by his companion Ouen, he’d say: “No Christian on the feast of Saint John or the solemnity of any other saint performs solestitia [summer solstice rites] or dancing or leaping or diabolical chants.” So, no diabolical chants then, but some diabolically good yarns.”
